欣葉 (Shin Yeh)
In 1977, a businesswoman with a dream set up a small restaurant in a Taipei back alley. Madam Lee Xiu Ying began with only 11 tables, founding the company. She decided to begin with simple home-style Taiwanese dishes. Shin Yeh’s reputation grew steadily due to word-of-mouth, and its customer base has been increasing ever since then. Beautiful Taiwanese cusine served in a warm comfortable restaurant.
A little bit pricey but for the food and environment. Definitely worth trying !!
老乾杯

This is a place that serves Australian Wagyu beef, cooked on coal stove in a Japanese way. Beef is extremely tender and fresh and price is reasonable.
山菜餐
竹子湖, 陽明山
A meal next to Yaoming National Park where all food was fresh from the farm - vegetables, chicken and fish. The most popular dish there is TARO... Must try.... A great and relaxing place to enjoy lunch.
Taipei Night Markets
There are so many night markets in Taipei, but the ones that I recommend are 師大 and 士林夜市. 士林夜市 is a very big night market where you can find all sorts of street foods as well as Taiwan souveniours. This is a place where visitors to Taipei must go. 師大夜市 has reduced its size a lot in these 2 years, but the one stall that I go everytime is the "garlic chilly fried chicken" - 鹽酥雞.
度小月

This shop originated in 1895 by a family with the surname Hung. The Hung family relies on fishing as a living. However, there are bad times when weather does not permit fishermen to go out to the rough sea (小月), so they started selling noodles on a wodden stall to go through this rough period, thereby 度小月. They are famous for 擔仔麵
永和豆漿大王

A casual shop that opens 24 hours that sells soya milk, egg pancakes, rice balls and steamed dumplings etc. The best place for breakfast as well as some supper after late night outs.
猫懒 MAOLAN

We took the Gondola cable car from Taipei to Maokong, which is highly located on the mountain. This place is famous for growing tea. The temperature was low due to its location.
I enjoyed this place as this is a very relaxing place where you can relax for some food and a cup of tea, high up in the mountain.
The tea is nice and the food is so so, but I would still recommend this place for the tea, atmosphere and the ambiance.
The fried rice is very nice though. Must order !!

No. 2 restaurant in Dai On. One of the best Japanese BBQ restaurant. Good quality beef, nice and well made sauce with reasonable price. It's even better than some in Japan.
金峰魯肉飯台北市羅斯福路 1 段 10 號 (南門市場旁)
This is a place that one must visit if you like 魯肉飯. Opens 7 days a week from 8am to 1am. So if you happen to arrive Taiwan late at night and feels hungry, this is the best place to visit to cure your hunger.
Very very authentic and tasty. Must try.!!
金蓬萊 - 遵古台菜台北市士林區天母東路101號
This is a very traditional Taiwanese restaurant that is full of history. I especially like the deep fried pork and the fish egg fried rice. The taste is soo good and unique. There is a reason why this restaurant can remain famous for over 60 years. Pity that I have only been once, there are too many dishes I want to try. Will definitely come back.
山海樓 - 手工台菜

A traditional Taiwanese restaurant hiding in a small Taipei street. The best selling point about this place is that the raw ingredients are very fresh, Service is excellent too.
Wing Hong Street (永康街)
This is one of the best street that you must visit if you want nice Taipei local food. A couple of recommendations - 度小月 for South Taiwanese food, the original 鼎泰豐 for Siu Lung Bao, A street shop selling egg pancakes. The queue is very long at all times, you cannot miss it.

This is a wagyu beef restaurant and it serves the highest grade of wagyu beef you can find in Taipei - 近江牛5A等級.
Price is expensive but worth trying for the best beef, served in all different methodologies. Definitely worth the price and experience.

What a lovely experience at this high-end restaurant that certainly delivers on quality and flavour!!! This Asia chain restaurant is located in Da Zhi. There are two dinner course sets to choose from. 12 courses or 8 courses. They use fresh in season ingredients.
Loved the menu display, tea gift and each course that blew my mind. Pure, clean, unfussy combinations that marry perfection with art!!!

Never would I thought to walk into a French restaurant in Taipei. Never would I thought the food served in there would be so authentic. Never would I thought the service would be this good. Never would I thought I would have tasted such juicy, tender and delicious piece of steak. Never would I thought the price would be so reasonable.
